Exegesis:
14:22 - Constrained - to force someone to do something.
OBEY HIS WORD.
to go before - Isn’t it interesting that sometimes Jesus sends us out front, only to pause in order for Him to go before us?
14:23 -
he went up - ascend. “
mountain - “Oros”
pray -
14:24 -
but the ship was now in the midst of the sea.
“tossed” - torture, torment
this is to be extremely troubled.
this same word is the same word used in Revelation 14 & 20:10 to describe those in the Lake of Fire.
“waves” - this is where Jesus called them to go.
“contrary” - very opposed in nature.
The very place Jesus called these men to go, was a place where they faced opposition.
Brad, go where Jesus tells you to go.
Aaron, go where Jesus tells you to go.
White Plains, go where Jesus tells you to go.
14:25 -

1. Faith in the Word

Verses 22-24

Faith in His Word is:

a. Required/ Faith to Get in the Boat

Jesus “constrained” them to get in the boat.
He told them to do something and here’s an important truth. When Jesus tells you to do something, you have two options: obedience or disobedience.

b. Resistance / Fight while on the Boat

How many of you know that when you trust God at His Word, there is often times resistance?
